Last year, fans of classic bikes went crazy for these wheels!

DAYTONA's Seven Star Mag Wheel launched in 1975, one year before the first cast wheels were adopted for commercial use in Japan, and was highly acclaimed worldwide. The name "mag wheel" was derived from the fact that it was made of A356, an aluminum alloy with high magnesium content. These wheels, which fit the popular Z1 and Z2 models of the time, were handcrafted and numbered, making them a truly special custom item!

Neither DAYTONA nor ENKEI, who handled the casting at the time, had any data on the original, so information was gathered from magazine advertisements of the time and actual wheels that were still in existence.

The motorcycle used for development was a Z1 in almost original condition owned by Mr. Ohba, who was in charge of the project. A Z2 was also borrowed for verification work.

Tomoya Ohba, responsible for planning and development-related matters, proposed this project internally.

Shin Nakamura, in charge of sales.

ENKEI, a world-class wheel brand based in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, was again in charge of manufacturing. Detailed discussions continued.

During the development process it was decided to include parts with the wheels. Initially, they had planned to sell the wheels alone, but in order to reduce the burden on users, the necessary parts such as bearings and collars were included with no change to the price.

The detailed design was determined making full use of 3D CAD technology. The top priority was to reproduce the 1975 original. On the other hand, some engravings are required by current laws, so they were also particular about where to place these.

Using a resin mockup created based on CAD data, they checked the clearance when mounted on the Z1 and Z2 down to the smallest detail. After that the mold manufacturing began.

This wheel commemorates the 50th anniversary of DAYTONA's founding in 1972, when the company was known as HENRY ABE INDUSTRY. Therefore, "50" is also engraved near the rim.
