Mastering the Art of Lightweight in Motocross Riding: WR250R Custom
Webike's Opinion
Here is a "YAMAHA WR250R" custom by Webike community user "monsterdog G4". The owner purchased a fully customized used bike to enjoy motocross, and he is very happy with this customization because each part is oriented towards riding. This bike can be significantly reduced in weight by simply replacing the stock exhaust and battery. Not only that, but small changes can also be very effective in reducing its weight. One of his favorite customization points is the RC KOSHIEN Hitman Street Exhaust System. Made of full titanium, it is extremely lightweight compared to the stock one. Installation is straightforward, and it offers high-quality precision. It produces a nice, crisp, slightly high-pitched "braap braap braap" sound that is pleasing to the ear. To adjust the handlebar position, the ZETA Triple Clamp Kit is installed. It offers 8-step adjustments, allowing fine-tuning according to the rider's physique, skill level, and riding style. The aluminum alloy construction not only makes the kit significantly lighter than the stock one but also improves cornering performance. To enhance the raised WR tail design, the DAYTONA Fender Eliminator Kit is installed. It is easy to install, and the included reflectors are well-balanced with the license plate lights, even if the stock blinkers are used as they are. Another contributing factor to the bike's lightweight is the lighter-than-stock ISA Rear Sprocket [Driven Sprocket] from a Japanese company known for its passion for metalworking. The sprocket undergoes high-precision machining and is designed with a commitment to roundness. It has a long lifespan, and each tooth has a uniform groove to prevent mud buildup. The radiator, which is prone to deformation and breakage when damaged, is protected by the AXP RACING Radiator Guard. Water-cooled bikes are a concern when it comes to damaging the radiator in the event of a fall, but thanks to this guard, even with multiple falls, the radiator has remained problem-free. The TGR RACING WHEEL Soft Spring is installed to address the "bounce" and lack of operational feel caused by the stiffness of the stock spring. This spring's rate is specifically set up for off-road riding and is an essential item for improving suspension operation. The soft springs strike a good balance, as they eliminate the push-up effect at the gap, but they are not overly soft, preventing them from bottoming out. This well-balanced customization allows for more of enjoyable motocross practice without hesitation.
