ACTIVE's GB350S

This GB350S Custom is one of the three models that ACTIVE proposed for the custom lifestyle at the 2022 Spring Tokyo Motorcycle Show. Using clip-ons and rearsets, this custom concept is a modern café racer that is not bound by the styles of yesteryear. Its classic appearance created by the simple frame and the presence of the beautiful engine are utilized to enhance the bike's performance. In addition, this custom's riding position created by the newer parts, inspires confidence with sport riding. The definition of "café racer" has been reinterpreted to fit modern road conditions and lifestyles. Although it differs from the traditional style, it still retains the coolness of a café racer. The custom based on the use of bolt-on parts is also noteworthy.

Indeed, not only removing parts to simplify or change the style, but rather gives the impression of being made to be enjoyed without the patience of the super forward leaning posture that was usually associated with the cafe style of the past. This may seem like a new attempt to break away from the standard, but as mentioned earlier, this is connected to the fact that it is not bound by the styles of the past, and this is the result of the young development staff at ACTIVE who brought a fresh sense to the planning and development process. This should be a good thing, since customization is a world where such sensibilities are brought in one after another. Some of the parts are still under development, but some of them are already on the market, such as the Hyper Pro rear shocks that can lower the height by 20mm, and the performance dampers that suppress slight vibrations. The same goes for a fender eliminator, GALE SPEED 18-inch forged wheels, and brake calipers. By utilizing these parts that build up the café racer's style and are eager to improve its functionality, GB's riding experience will become even more exciting.

Handle

Clip-ons and Φ41 top bridge kit eliminate the handlebar post with an uncluttered shape to create a relaxed position. The bars are vertically angled by 3-degrees, and this kit allows steering lock using the main key. A handlebar stopper is also included. A meter bracket that lowers the meter position and allows the addition of a DAYTONA Verona Φ48 tachometer (right side of photo) is included for reference. The Hyper Pro pre-load adjuster mounted on the top of the front forks allows riders to adjust their pre-load from the outside.

The sculpture of the machined aluminum top bridge can be seen from this angle. The mirrors are bar-end types. The ACTIVE STF lever brake, black type, is well-known for its rattle-free operation. The clutch side is also by ACTIVE. ACTIVE Throttle Kit Type-1, with Φ36 plated hardware and 800mm wire. In addition, the ACTIVE Switch Type-2 is also installed.

Bodyworks

A carbon single seat cowl is designed for the stock seat, emphasizing the cafe racer style. It is said to be under development for bolt-on installation. The fender eliminator kit seen below is already on sale.

A DNA Hexagonal Tapered Φ44 air filter is used. In addition, a performance damper by ACTIVE is installed on the right side of the cylinder. This is a popular part that suppresses unpleasant micro-vibrations and improves ride comfort.

Chassis

The wheels are forged aluminum GALE SPEED TYPE-N with 2.75-18 for the front and 4.00-18 for the rear with a lighter feel. GALE SPEED's elaborate axial front caliper is mounted by ACTIVE Caliper Support.

Rearsets are by ACTIVE. These are made of machined aluminum and have six adjustable positions to provide a suitable fit for this cafe racer style. This kit accommodates a single rider only, as the stock parts are integrated with the pillion steps.

Hyper Pro's Emulsion Rear Shocks are lowered the riding height by 20mm. These products improve a rider's reach to the ground for a stable and smooth ride with constant-riding-rate springs. When installed, the front forks can be pushed out 10mm to create the same posture as the stock.

Intake & Exhaust

The silencer is retained, but the stock heat guards were painted black. The brake system is also retained, and the brake hoses are GOODRIDGE Build-A-Line smoke type.
